X community adds a context note to user's post: An X (formerly Twitter) user posted "The American Red Cross is now asking blood donors if they have received the Covid vaccine. If donors answer yes, they are advised to call ahead to confirm if they are still eligible to donate. I thought Dr. Fauci said the unvaccinated were the problem?" The post included a screenshot of the American Red Cross RapidPass question 79 that asks "Have you EVER had a Coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccine," and instructs users to call the Red Cross before coming in to donate if they answered yes to this question. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. They ask this question to make sure you haven't received a self-replicating vaccine; and if you have, there is a two-week wait. Most Covid vaccines are not replicating, and do not require a waiting period. redcrossblood.org/faq.html#eligi…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
