X community adds a context note to Sen. Richard Blumenthal post: Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) posted a copy of the Kids Online Safety Act and said "We now have a total of 62 co-sponsors—Democrats & Republicans—for the Kids Online Safety Act. This overwhelming bipartisan support mirrors the powerful calls from young people & parents who want Congress to take action & finally hold Big Tech accountable." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This 'Kids Online Safety Act' is effectively a Trojan horse for internet censorship. consumerchoicecenter.org/kids-online-sa… eff.org/deeplinks/2024… congress.gov/bill/118th-con…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system.
