Sean Plunket

Twitter permanently suspends Sean Plunket: Sean Plunket, journalist and founder of The Platform, is permanently banned from Twitter. According to screenshots in an article by Reclaim the Net, Sean’s account has been removed and replaced with the message, “Account suspended. Twitter suspends accounts that violate the Twitter Rules.” Another screenshot of Plunket’s Facebook page shows a message from Twitter that reads, “Your account is permanently suspended. After careful review, we determined your account broke the Twitter Rules. Your account is permanently in read-only mode, which means you can’t Tweet, Retweet, or Like content. You won’t able to create new accounts. If you think we got this wrong, you can submit an appeal.” Reclaim the Net reports that Plunket did not know why he has been banned. Twitter Rules are meant to prevent a range of inappropriate content from “violent speech,” “gory,” or “adult content,” and “non-consensual nudity” to “platform manipulation and spam.” However, Twitter did not point to specific content Plunket tweeted that might have violated these standards. Two days later, an article by 1News reported that Twitter restored Plunket’s account, which still seems to be active at the time of publishing.
