X community adds a context note to Ron Filipowski's post: Political activist Ron Filipowski posted "Tucker says after visiting a Russian grocery store he is 'radicalized against our leaders' because Russians have it so much better than Americans." The post included a video Tucker Carlson shot of himself in a Russian grocery store. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Over 60% of Russians spend half of their salary on food, according to Russia's state-owned news agency TASS. tass.com/society/1314425 The average wage in Russia is 73,383 RUB per month (which is $791 with today's exchange rate). tradingeconomics.com/russia/wages." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
