Twitter community adds a context note to Ron DeSantis’s tweet: Ron DeSantis, Florida governor and a 2024 Republican presidential candidate, tweeted, “Good on the thousands who showed up at Dodger Stadium to protest this anti-Catholic hate group. The virtually empty stadium for the game itself was a powerful image – Americans are fed up with the nonsense and are fighting back.” DeSantis also included a link to the New York Post story about the incident. Twitter added a warning label to the post. The header of the label says, “Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The label continued, “The photo was taken an hour before the opening pitch. The Dodgers reported attendance for June 16 was 49,074 (The 49,074 figure is the number of tickets sold, not the number in attendance. Actual turnstile attendance is not publicly known at this time).” There is also a link to ESPN ticket sale listings.
