X community adds a context note to RNC Research post: The RNC Research account posted "Kamala Harris to NBC Nightly News on why Biden won't take executive action to secure the border: 'That's why he's gonna lose in November!'" The post included a video clip that purportedly was from an interview Harris did on "Biden's fiery State of the Union address." The clip had the host asking Harris, "Why not do it by executive order?" Harris' response was, "The American people deserve leadership that's about fixing problems. And that's why he's gonna lose in November." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This is an altered video. The original video is here, and the relevant portion is 4:18 to 4:48: youtube.com/watch?v=XkmExe…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
