X community adds a context note to post about Down Syndrome abortions: An X (formerly Twitter) account posted, "You can’t screen for Down syndrome before about 10 weeks, and something like 80% of Down syndrome fetuses are aborted. If red states ban abortion, we could see a world where they have five times as many children with Down syndrome, and similar numbers for other disabilities." X added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "There is no single comprehensive US study showing the percentage of diagnosed Downs Syndrome pregnancies that end in termination. The compilation of 24 small case studies showed the average across the reporting was 67%. obgyn.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.10…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system.
