Representative Lauren Boebert

Twitter community adds a context note to Representative Lauren Boebert's tweet: Lauren Boebert, Republican Congresswoman and representative of Colorado, tweeted, “The Supreme Court just blocked Biden’s $400 billion student loan bailout. Forcing hard-working taxpayers to foot the bill for people that took out students loans knowing they would have to be repaid is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! A college education is a choice, not a requirement.” Twitter added a warning label to the post. The header of the label says, “Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The context note continues, “The Supreme Court did not rule that canceling student loan debt is unconstitutional. The opinion stated that canceling the debt was not authorized by the HEROES Act. Student loan debt could be canceled by Congress without violating the Constitution.” The note also includes a link to the Supreme Court decision.
