X community adds a context note to Mike Garcia's post: Rep. Mike Garcia (R-CA) posted "This cancer-screening mobile van is a perfect example of the good that can be done when Congress and community partners find real solutions to real problems. I'm so proud to have secured the funding for this first-in-the-nation van, and I look forward to seeing it expand healthcare access across ALL of CA-27." The post included a link to an article about the van. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. He voted against this funding businessinsider.com/mike-garcia-ea…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later. Garcia responded to the Community Note with another post disputing the note's accuracy.
