X community adds a context note to Rebekah Jones post: Self-described "whistleblower" Rebekah Jones posted "They'll rape us, deny us healthcare, force us to see through unwanted pregnancies and then demand they have rights. This is what Republicans want." The post included a link to an article headlined "Man who raped 12-year-old awarded joint custody of her child." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This was a prosecutorial error. The mother’s attorney and the prosecution notified the judge that the victim was raped and once notified the judge stayed the order on the next business day. The same judge reversed the order at the next case hearing in October 2017. mlive.com/news/saginaw/2…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
