President Joe Biden

Twitter community adds a context note to Joe Biden tweet:  The official Twitter account for the president tweeted, “More than 700,000 people joined the labor force last month, which means a higher share of working-age Americans are now in the workforce than at any time in the last 20 years. People are coming off the sidelines to go to work." Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "The share of working age Americans w/ jobs isn’t at a 20 yr high. It was higher before. Civilian labor force participation Jan 07: 66.4 Aug 23: 62.8 bls.gov/charts/employm… Employment–pop. ratio Dec 06: 63.4 Aug 23: 60.4 bls.gov/charts/employm… The claim relies on using an age subset, not all working age Americans. factcheck.org/2023/06/factch…" The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system.
