President Joe Biden

Twitter community adds a context note to Joe Biden tweet:  The official Twitter account for the president tweeted, “12,700,000 jobs.”  The tweet included an infographic that said “12,700,000 jobs added under President Biden." Twitter added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "While Biden’s claim of 12.7 million new jobs in his term is accurate, the large majority of these new jobs can be attributed to economic recovery after COVID-19." The context note also included a link to a Bureau of Labor Statistics table to support the note. The label is part of Twitter’s Community Notes system. Twitter users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
