X community adds a context note to The Post Millennial post: The Post Millennial's X account posted the following: "Trump: 'We are going to have the largest deportation effort in the history of our country ... We have no choice.'" The post included a short video of Trump expressing these words at a televised townhall. The X community added a note to the post that read: "For context: Trump made similar promises in 2016. Despite this, during his 4 years as president he deported fewer illegal immigrants than Obama did during each of his terms. docs.house.gov/meetings/GO/GO… houstonchronicle.com/politics/texas… theguardian.com/us-news/2016/n…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
