X community adds a context note to PETA's post: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) posted an image of a dog riding on a dog sled being led by two naked humans in the snow and said "You wouldn’t want this and dogs forced to race in the #Iditarod don’t either." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Sled dogs thrive on mental stimulation and physical activity. Dogsledding provides them with both. When well cared for, the dogs actually do enjoy the dog sledding. nationalgeographic.com/animals/articl… positive.travel/articles/aware… tremblantactivities.com/do-dogs-enjoy-… theglobeandmail.com/life/article-w… nh.gov/folklife/learn…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
