PETA

X community adds a context note to PETA's post: People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) posted "Breathing-impaired breeds (BIBs) are doomed to a lifetime of health problems & suffering. Help us urge the university to replace their live bulldog mascot with a willing human one. https://peta.vg/3ti9." The post was a follow-up to another post about the death of the University of Georgia's bulldog mascot. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. None of this is true. They aren’t doomed for a lifetime of health problems or suffering. They *can* have breathing problems. schertzanimalhospital.com/blog/flat-face…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
