X community adds a context note to OSINTdefender post: An X (formerly Twitter) account known as OSINTdefender posted about a Major General who appeared in uniform beside former President Trump at a campaign rally in Texas. The post explained that Major General Thomas M. Suelzer served on active duty with the Air Force for ten years, followed by seven years in the Reserves, after which he joined the Texas Air National Guard and is currently the Adjutant General for the Texas Military Department, appointed by Gov. Greg Abbott. The post concludes by saying that "because he is a Political Appointee by Governor Abbott who was at the Rally and because he only Works for the Texas Military Department and not the U.S. Department of Defense, he did not Breach any kind of UCMJ or DoD Policy regarding Political Affiliations/Events." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Although Major General Suelzer is a member of the Texas Military Department, he is wearing his U.S. Air Force uniform and tapes. He’s allowed to wear it by DAFI 36-2903, however this same instruction strictly prohibits wear at a political activity or unofficial speeches. static.e-publishing.af.mil/production/1/a…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system.
