Facebook restricts user's account after she posted about dubious incidents in the medical profession related to COVID-19: A Facebook user posted about the retracted Lancet Journal study on Hydroxychloroquine and doctors who have lost medical licenses for using the drug to treat Covid-19. In a screenshot she posted to Twitter, part of her post is readable. "Did you know that the Lancet published a fake paper claiming that HCQ was deadly?" she wrote. "Did you know that doctors were threatened to lose their licenses or even imprisonment around the world for treating COVID19 with drugs as ivermectin or HCQ[?] Did you know that this is still happening in Canada, South Africa and other countries?..." Her post was flagged, deleted by Facebook and she was given an account restriction which prevented her from posting or commenting for three days. Facebook claimed her post did not follow its Community Standards "on misinformation that could cause physical harm" which, according to the user's screenshot, "includes information that recognized health organizations say could mislead people about how to cure or prevent a disease or that could discourage people from seeking medical treatment." Although the user disagreed with the decision, it is unclear whether Facebook has responded to her request for further review.
