X community adds a context note to Nikki Haley post:  Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley's official X account posted, “In the last debate, Ron told millions of voters he never gave favors to Chinese companies. That was a lie. Ron gave hundreds of thousands of dollars in state subsidies to JinkoSolar. #factsmatter” The post then linked to a Washington Examiner article headlined "DeSantis gave federally investigated Chinese company tax credit despite earlier denials." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. JinkoSolar was brought into Florida in 2018 by then Governor Rick Scott. jacksonville.gov/welcome/news/g… jacksonville.com/story/news/pol…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
