X community adds a context note to New York Post post: The New York Post X account posted "Gene Hackman, 94, spotted in new photos wearing nearly identical outfit from weeks earlier https://trib.al/xwU4pKY." The post included two photos of Hackman. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The two photos shown with the headline about 'identical outfits' are misleading because they are images of Hackman taken during the same day. The outfit worn 'weeks earlier' that is referred to involved a completely different shirt and pants; only the vest and hat are the same: nypost.com/2024/03/29/ent…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
