Matthew Klint

Twitter censors users tweet of article supporting Ukraine: A Twitter account for Matthew Klint, who runs a travel blog called Live and Let's Fly, was censored, according to a story he published on his blog. He had tweeted a blog post that he wrote in support of Ukraine, explaining what was happening, and offering a prayer for the country. According to purported screenshots he published on his blog, Twitter found the tweet of the article to have violated one of its rules, but did not specify which one. Instead of deleting the post, which, according to the language Twitter uses on the delete interface, would "acknowledge that [his] Tweet violated the Twitter Rules," he chose instead to appeal. In his appeal, he wrote, "I write a popular blog. Have you read the post you claim violates the rules? Where is the violation? There is none." According to more purported screenshots provided in the blog, the appeal was denied, but Twitter did provide a reason for the violation, which was that his tweet violated its "rules against abusive behavior." Klint suspected that "Russian trolls" were behind the incident, according to his blog, and wasn't convinced that a human reviewed his censorship.
