X community adds a context note to Matt Couch post: The X account for political analyst Matt Couch posted "So the sham trial in New York is making the Trump defense team give their closing arguments first before corrupt New York DA Alvin Bragg and Obama’s DOJ that left to run this sham trial.. This is unbelievable and unheard of…" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. It is neither unbelievable nor unheard of and is in fact standard practice for the courts of NY as the burden of proof rests on the prosecution. nycourts.gov/courthelp/crim…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
