Mark Dice

X community adds a context note to Mark Dice post: Mark Dice posted "Rate this bogus and irrelevant community note as unhelpful and false. The DeSantis fanboys weaponized the feature because they’re unhinged and desperate since their candidate’s campaign failed to launch (and their only hope is to side with Democrats to throw Donald Trump in prison). It’s not even remotely relevant to my point. DeSantards." He seemed to be addressing a Community Note that was added to a different post of his but has since been removed. That post read "If Trump loses in 2024, of course the DeSantis people will blame Trump supporters, when they themselves fractured the party and aided Democrats by attacking Trump instead of uniting behind him. Typical leftist tactic. Blame others for what they themselves are guilty of." X added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know." The added context read, "Community Notes is designed to avoid 'pile ons'. To identify notes that are helpful to a wide range of people, notes require agreement between contributors who have sometimes disagreed in their past ratings. This helps prevent one-sided ratings Learn more about Community Notes communitynotes.twitter.com/guide/en/about…"

The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted to explain that notices will now be pushed to users that previously engaged with a post about any Community Notes added to it after the engagement.
