Marjorie Taylor Greene

X Community Notes comes to Joe Biden’s defense: Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) posted on X (formerly Twitter), “The President must come to Congress for permission before going to war. Biden can not solely decide to bomb Yemen.” She went on, “And what is the condition of Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin? Is he still laid up in the hospital? Biden admin wants to fund war in Ukraine, control the war in Israel, arm Taiwan and prep for war with China, and is now going to war in the Middle East??? All with a wide open border, millions invading, and millions of got aways?! This is insanely out of control!” X Community Notes put a fact-check — which includes demonetization — on Greene’s post, defending Biden’s actions, “While only Congress may formally declare war, under 50 US §1543, the President may initiate limited military action without prior Congressional approval so long as he delivers a report to Congress within 48 hours of commencing the action.”
