X community adds a context note to March for Life post: March for Life posted "A pro-life democrat against the abortion drug that’s killed 28 women (so far)." The post included an image of a male protestor holding a sign reading "The Abortion Pill Killed 28 Women." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. In those 28 deaths out of 5.2 million women since 2000, the FDA said information gaps made it impossible to directly attribute the cause to mifepristone. In some cases, the deaths involved overdoses and coexisting medical conditions. washingtonpost.com/health/2023/04…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
