X community adds a context note to Luke Rudkowski post: Conservative commentator Luke Rudkowski posted "I'm just going to leave this here." The post included a photo collage of four newspaper headlines all about people who had accused actor Kevin Spacey of various crimes and then died before their cases went to trial. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Linda Culkin was an accuser and convicted stalker of spacey [sic]. The massage therapist passed away from ongoing cancer; they're John Doe in the matter. Ari Behn died by suicide; while he was sexually assaulted, he did not file any legal proceedings against Spacey." The note was later removed from the post. The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
