Instagram disables outdoor account after failing to follow its own guidelines: Lone Star Outdoor Show had its Instagram account shut down, and the reason that Instagram used did not follow its own written guidelines. It seems that the hunting-focused account had multiple violations over time that ultimately led to the account being shut down, but the violations inappropriately used guidelines that have clear exceptions for hunting. In this case from November 2021, the user posted a photo showing the result of a wild boar attack on a fisherman's leg. The leg was clearly severely injured, but had a field tourniquet applied that had saved his life, and the user was using the photo to make the point that everyone should be prepared to act in a similar situation. According to a screenshot shared with CensorTrack, Instagram claimed this post violated its Community Guidelines, but did not specify which one. While the photo was graphic, it was a warning, and other guidelines make a clear exception for hunting-related posts.
