X community adds a context note to Liz Churchill post: X user Liz Churchill posted a video of a container ship crashing into the Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, and the bridge subsequently collapsing. She added her own commentary to the video, noting "This was an attack. People need to accept we’re in World War 3. Every Politician that cannot openly state this is complicit." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Officials have said it was not intentional nor an act of terrorism. An early Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) report found the container ship 'lost propulsion' and notified MD dept of Transportation as it was leaving port dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
