X community adds a context note to Libs Of TikTok post: Viral X (formerly Twitter) account LibsOfTikTok posted, “So a link to a porn site was put on @pawpatrol’s packaging for biscuits and now they just included a nonbinary character for their kid’s show? Sounds like @pawpatrol is run by groomers who are after your kids. PARENTS BEWARE.” The post included a photo of an article about the so-called nonbinary character, and a screenshot of a post about a URL on a Paw Patrol branded snack item leading to a porn website. X added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know.” The added context read "Misleading. Originally, the link pointed to nutritional information. The link owner let it expire, and it was compromised to display adult content. It was never intentionally set, and all packages with the link were pulled from sale upon discovery. businessinsider.com/lidl-recalls-p…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to tweets.
