X community adds a context note to Leading Report post: The Leading Report account posted "BREAKING: After Trump wins the Georgia Primary, the Board of Commissioners of Columbia County, Georgia, has ordered a physical hand count of the election results after tabulation machine malfunctions related to a 'technological error' were reported in multiple precincts." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The recount in Columbia County Georgia did not involve Donald Trump's primary or multiple precincts. The recount was for the Georgia House of Representatives District 125 primary runoff between Gary Richardson and CJ Pearson. wrdw.com/2024/03/12/bal…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
