X community adds a context note to LBC post: British news outlet Leading Britain's Conversation (LBC) posted, "Boost for Brits' wallets as inflation falls dramatically to 3.9%." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The inflation rate refers to prices for goods and services compared to the same point one year previously. Therefore an inflation rate of 3.9% means that things cost more not less than previously. It cannot be interpreted as people having more money in their wallet as stated. thebalancemoney.com/what-is-inflat…." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
