X community adds a context note to Laura Loomer post: Political activist Laura Loomer posted "Colorado’s homosexual Governor who is in favor of giving illegal aliens the right to vote and is supportive of measures to remove President Trump from the ballot couldn’t bother to wish Coloradans a Merry Christmas in English. Expect this to be the norm if Trump doesn’t win." The post included a re-post from the Colorado Governor Jared Polis's Spanish X account, @GovofCoEspanol, that contained a video of the governor singing and dancing to the song Feliz Navidad. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This claim is incorrect. Governor Jared Polis wished Coloradans a Merry Christmas in English 14 hours ago, before this was posted. x.com/jaredpolis/sta…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
