X community adds a context note to Laura Loomer's post: Political activist Laura Loomer posted a long post about the differing claims between the Trump and DeSantis camp about the new FBI building in DC. Her post was in response to someone else posting "Laura Loomer can't criticize the FBI's new building now because Trump supports it and threw her under the bus. Hilarious." Loomer claimed that Trump stopped the FBI from moving to another location in DC while he was president, and that while DeSantis was a member of Congress he did nothing to prevent the move. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Trump posted on Truth Social on 12/30/2023 that he wanted the FBI headquarters to be in a 'new and spectacular building'. newsweek.com/donald-trumps-…. Trump’s truth can be seen here: pbs.twimg.com/media/GCpOf9mX… truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTru…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
