X community adds a context note to Laura Loomer's post: Political activist Laura Loomer posted a link to a Newsweek article titled "Exclusive: Tucker Carlson could face sanctions over Putin interview." Loomer added her own commentary to the post, saying "America is not a free country when a journalist could face sanctions for doing journalism. We are a joke of a country. @TuckerCarlson THIRD WORLD!" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The article explains that some European politicians have called for banning Tucker from traveling to the EU, as a sanction for interviewing 'wanted criminal Putin', not the U.S. newsweek.com/tucker-carlson…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
