X community adds a context note to Laura Loomer's post: Political activist Laura Loomer posted a link to a Newsweek article along with her summary of the article: "Now that @RonDeSantis's failed Presidential campaign has ended, he's now pushing Florida lawmakers to pass legislation to DOUBLE his salary. DeSantis wants his salary to increase by over $100,000. He is the most corrupt Governor in FL history!" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. From the source she attached: 'The proposal ... would take effect in the fiscal year 2027, meaning Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who is currently serving a second term, will not benefit from the increased salary.' newsweek.com/florida-republ…." The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
