In fact, DeSantis has paid Ben and DW over $110,000.” She included a photo that allegedly supported her point. Twitter added a Community Note warning label to the post that read: “The date has been cropped out of this photo. The transactions were for DeSantis' 2022 gubernatorial re-election campaign, which rented the Daily Wire’s email lists for fundraising. Companies and political campaigns regularly rent the Daily Wire's email lists. " The added context additionally included links to articles from Transparency USA, Media Matters and a tweet from Daily Wire Co-Founder.
