X community adds a context note to Lady Michelle Mone post: Lady Michelle Mone re-posted her own post that had received a Community Note. She commented on the Note, saying "This label by @CommunityNotes is biased and factually incorrect. An email sent in 2020 by the Cabinet Office to PPE Medpro said our gowns had been 'approved by technical.' We dispute all claims by the government that the product was defective, and intent to clear our name." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The Community Note cited is factually correct, as the items supplied were deemed not fit for purpose. The claim brought against the company is currently being defended, but that does not undermine the fact that the supplied PPE could not be used by the NHS theguardian.com/uk-news/2023/d…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
