X community adds a context note to Josh Hall post: Joshua Hall, an apparent candidate for Senate in Pennsylvania who served time over threatening Rep. Eric Swalwell and for wire fraud, posted: "VOTER FRAUD ALERT: Thousands of mysterious mail-in ballots have just been shipped into polling places that are conducting the #IowaCaucuses. This is strange given that caucuses are usually conducted IN PERSON and have few exceptions for absentee ballots. PATRIOTS: BE ALERT!" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. After The Democratic National Committee stripped Iowa of its first-in-the-nation voting status this election cycle, Iowa Democrats are using mail in ballots. This does not affect the Republican’s caucus process cbsnews.com/video/iowa-dem…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
