X community adds a context note to "Johnny Maga" post: An X (formerly Twitter) account believed to be run by Jan. 6 organizer Ali Alexander posted "BREAKING: The judge in Trump’s E. Jean Carroll defamation trial just delayed todays trial until tomorrow — the day of the NH primary ELECTION INTERFERENCE!" The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. The civil defamation case against Donald Trump was postponed until Tuesday or later, after one juror reported feeling ill and one or more parents of Trump's lead lawyer tested positive for COVID-19. reuters.com/world/us/e-jea…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
