Twitter censors user for calling Lia Thomas a man, reverses ruling on appeal: A Twitter user shared screenshots of his censorship notice. He was responding to another user who tweeted: "No matter your opinion on Lia Thomas, I urge you to discuss the topic as if a transgender person were in the room. Because one probably is. We can agree or disagree with the NCAA without insulting our transgender friends, classmates, and neighbors." The user replied, "You don't comprehend what I would say if a transgender person were in the room. I would not be supportive or encouraging. 'Lia' Thomas is a guy, and his actions are deeply offensive." Twitter found this to violate one of its rules, though it did not specify which one. The user appealed, stating: "I count this as an achievement equal to graduating from graduate school, twice. I will not submit to gender Lysenkoism. Your intellectual dysphoria will never make 'Lia' Thomas a woman. I will not delete the tweet. Do your worst." Within 2 days, Twitter sent the user a message saying that it had made a mistake, and unlocked the user's account. The tweet is still up on the user's feed, and his account is unlocked.
