X community adds a context note to Jill Stein post: Green Party presidential candidate Jill Stein's official X account posted, "The political system is broken. Over 60% of us now say the two-party establishment has failed us and we need a party that serves the people. I’m running for President to offer a better choice for the people. Join us! https://jillstein2024.com." The post included her campaign launch video. X added a label to the post that read "Readers added context they thought people might want to know." The added context read, "Jill Stein’s campaign announcement includes footage of the aftermath of Assad regime-allied airstrikes in Syria while discussing U.S. involvement in wars. twitter.com/PatrickHilsman…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk recently shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will now be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
