X community adds a context note to Jaime Harrison post: The X account for Democrat Party Chair Jaime Harrison posted "David did you get notice that we would vote on July 22? We will have this vote by August 5th to comply with the OH deadline of August 7." This was in reference to an allegation that the Democrat Party would be holding a virtual vote for the nominee on July 22nd, well ahead of the convention. The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This is false. Ohio's deadline is not August 7. Ohio House Bill 2 changed the deadline to certify a candidate for the 2024 presidential ballot to 65 days before the election -- Sept. 6. Even if Ohio Republicans somehow altered HB2, the deadline would not revert to Aug. 7. legislature.ohio.gov/files/special-…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
