X’s Community Notes claims missing context: Jackson Hinkle posted, "Holy sh*t The image that Ben Shapiro tried to pass off as a “burnt baby corpse” was an AI-generated fake image!" The post included a screenshot of a Shapiro post claiming to include a photo of a baby burned beyond recognition, and a screenshot of the image having been run through the AI detector found at aiornot.com that indicated the image was generated by AI. X’s Community Notes added a context graph to the post that currently reads, “AI detectors can be inaccurate: nytimes.com/interactive/20… Multiple users on X have used this website (aiornot.com) to verify images, with inaccurate results. Confirmed real picture of a pen is seen as AI: twitter.com/AbrahamLinkedl… Confirmed fake Biden image seen as real: twitter.com/stillgray/stat… Different results based on the same image twitter.com/Tonio_RD/statu…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts.
