Twitter placed a Community Notes notice on an Ian Miles Cheong post: Ian Miles Cheong posted a video about the rigorous La Sierra High School gym program from the late 1950s and 1960s. "What happened to America? This used to be the average gym class in the 1950s and 60s," Cheong wrote. According to the video, the program was in over 4000 schools and was pushed by John F. Kennedy to be the national standard. La Sierra reportedly required a minimum of 16 push-ups and a 7.5-minute mile. Twitter Community Notes added a note to the bottom of his post disputing Cheong's claim. "This footage is not from an “average gym class” it is a showing of the La Sierra physical education program, a very rigorous program in few schools. The video he posted explains this," the note read.
