Facebook fact checkers flagged a Freedom In America post for missing context because it dared question the breakdown of the recently passed $1.9 trillion Covid 19 stimulus bill: Freedom in America, a conservative discussion page on Facebook, posted a picture claiming that most of the stimulus package would not contribute to direct payments for eligible citizens and would leave over $1 trillion for other causes. AFP's article explanation claims the photo is misleading because not every American could have received $1 million in stimulus money. Unfortunately for Facebook, the post never made this claim. Similarly, a linked Reuters article points out that not all of the extra $1 trillion will go towards foreign aid but again Freedom In America's photo never argued that it would.
