X community adds a context note to Financial Times post: The Financial Times posted: "'Peace is a core value of Ben & Jerry’s. From Iraq to Ukraine [the company] has consistently stood up for these principles. Today is no different,' the company’s board chair Anuradha Mittal told the FT https://on.ft.com/3O3ch5E." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Ben Cohen has not once criticized Russia for its invasion of Ukraine. Additionally he funded a prize for 'journalism' where the winner was Aaaron Maté who is a writer for Grayzone - a site that is infamous for it's mis/disinformation thepierrespreyaward.org/2022-winners politico.eu/article/ben-co…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
