X community adds a context note to Elon Musk's post: X owner Elon Musk posted "It’s patently absurd that Apple isn’t smart enough to make their own AI, yet is somehow capable of ensuring that OpenAI will protect your security & privacy! Apple has no clue what’s actually going on once they hand your data over to OpenAI. They’re selling you down the river." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. Apple has developed their foundational models which run on-device (locally) and have approximately 3 billion parameters. For tasks that require more compute, Apple either uses Private Cloud Compute (open to verify for privacy) or OpenAI with an additional confirmation. machinelearning.apple.com/research/intro…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
