Dr. Zubin Damania

Facebook threatens to deplatform doctor over his videos discussing the science of vaccines in a pro-vaccine manner: Dr. Zubin Damania, aka "ZDoggMD", spoke with Dave Rubin of the Rubin Report on February 12 about how Facebook has threatened to terminate his account with almost 2.2 million followers. "On Facebook I suddenly got a message on the back end in my creator side that said, 'oh this page is at risk for being depublished because of violations of community standards'," Dr. Damania told Rubin. "I got no such notifications, I had no clue, and when you click appeal it's greyed out so you have no recourse." Dr. Damania was especially concerned about abruptly losing his almost 2.2 million followers it took him ten years to build without any warning, or explanation as to why, which he said is what Facebook was threatening. Further adding to the frustration for Dr. Damania was that Facebook's threat had been "led into with some of [Dr. Damania's] videos that were sort of talking about the science of vaccines in a pro-vaccine way — being labeled as 'potential misinformation' by 'independent fact-checkers'," he said. Another guest of the show, Dr. Drew Pinsky, followed up by remarking how ridiculous it has been for non-medical professionals to be determining what is appropriate for a physician conversation.
