Facebook retroactively censors Robby Starbuck post from Sept 2021: Tennessee 2022 congressional candidate Robby Starbuck tweeted that Facebook removed a post created 10 months prior. Starbuck posted a The Federalist article entitled "A Look At Scientific Evidence Suggesting Face Masks Damage Your Health." According to Starbuck's screenshots, Facebook removed the post because it "goes against [its] Community Standards on misinformation that could cause physical harm." The platform also threatened that "if something you post doesn't follow our standards in future, your ability to post or comment may be restricted - or your account may be disabled." Starbuck tweeted that Facebook would not let him appeal.
In exclusive comments to MRC Free Speech America, Starbuck commented on Big Tech censorship more broadly. "Big Tech censorship is a threat to the very survival of our country. On a whim they have the power to flip elections and hide critical information from voters. Just look at my [congressional] race, I’ve been censored during my run by Twitter, Facebook and Instagram during it," he told MRC CensorTrack. He added that the same week that he "promised action against Big Tech" at CPAC, Twitter and Instagram placed search bans on his accounts. "The possibilities for abuse are endless. Until we stop Big Tech from manipulating elections and censoring speech, America’s survival is in danger!" Starbuck said. Facebook did not respond to MRC CensorTrack's request for comment at the time of publication.
