Dr. Seuss Meme

Fact-checkers go after meme asking why Dr. Seuss is considered "inappropriate content" while Cardi B's "Wet A** Pu**y" is awarded "song of the year": A meme pointing out the peculiarity of Dr. Seuss getting canceled for being offensive content, while a song titled "Wet Ass Pussy" wins "song of the year," has been fact-checked for missing context. "Imagine living in a nation where Cardi B's 'Wet Ass Pussy' wins 'song of the year' ...," the meme reads. "... Yet 'The Cat in the Hat' is deemed 'inappropriate content' and Disney slaps content warnings on 'The Muppet Show'." Facebook fact-checker Lead Stories argued the meme was misleading and missing context because Dr. Seuss's "Cat in the Hat" wasn't one of the six Dr. Seuss titles withdrawn from publication. Posts that have been fact-checked lose exposure on Facebook as they are negatively affected by the platform's algorithm.
