X censors post from Donald Trump, Jr.: Donald Trump, Jr. posted an image of some stairs painted with words spelling "FREE PALASTINE." He added his own commentary to the image, saying "I don’t know about you, but if you really cared about Palestine, perhaps you should know how to fricken spell it?!? Columbia ain’t producing the best anymore, but I’m sure they have a lot of debt that they’re going to ask a plumber to pay for!!! Minor details." The X community added a note to the post that read: "Readers added context they thought people might want to know. This is not at Columbia university. This is Tabert Hall at Univ of Ottawa. nypost.com/2024/05/07/wor…" The label is part of X’s Community Notes system. X users are able to sign up as contributors to add context to posts. X owner Elon Musk shared that any post with a Community Note added to it will be demonetized. The Community Notes account on X also posted that notices will be pushed to users who previously engaged with a post when a Community Note is added to it later.
